Isaiah 49:15-16

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?

Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;” NKJV

One time as I read this verse I got a picture of Jesus’ hands, one holding a pencil with which He was writing my name on the palm of the other. This really touched my heart. Some time later I was again reading this verse and the image that came to mind was as before but had one very potent change. The pencil that Jesus had held this time was the spike that He had been nailed to the cross with. This is the way He wrote yours and my name upon the palm of His hand. “If He willingly gave up his life will He not freely give us all else?”
